Timothy Knapman
Timothy Knapman is a bookwriter, lyricist, playwright and children’s author. His musicals include: with composer/lyricist Laurence Mark Wythe, Midnight (Union Theatre, London and Seoul, South Korea); Danni Hero (Perfect Pitch Musicals; Corby Cube); Growl! The True Story of the Big Bad Wolf (National Youth Music Theatre UK tour); with composer/lyricist Stuart Matthew Price, Before After (St James Theatre, London; Musical-za, Tokyo); Imaginary (National Youth Music Theatre); with Alex Silverman and Ed Jaspers, Hamlet! The Musical (Edinburgh Fringe, Northampton, Richmond).
Plays include The Stag King (Edinburgh Fringe), Gilbert and Sullivan: All At Sixes and Sevens (King’s Head) and A Christmas Carol (Oxford). He has worked extensively with the madrigal group I Fagiolini (with premières at the BBC Proms, Cadogan Hall, the Cheltenham Festival, the Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square and the Dartington International Summer School) and written and translated opera libretti. He has written over 60 children’s books, which have been translated into more than 20 languages and broadcast on the CBeebies TV channel.
